In Memoriam for George J. C. Heller, Navy, Honored by Bowsers Cemetery
(1884-1963) My grandfather (Pop) joined the Navy in 1906 and was a part of Pres. Teddy Roosevelt's deployment of the U.S. Fleet around the world which established the U.S. as a major world power. Pop served in WWI, and retired in 1927 as a Chief Petty Officer. He remained 10 years in the Fleet Reserve, and 5 times during WWII, he was called to stand by for possible service and was eager to serve. With Love, Janet Beaty Locher and the Beaty grandchildren

We are glad you want to help with Wreaths Across America at Bowsers Cemetery. Make sure you register to volunteer (giving email and phone numbers) so we can email you planning updates if necessary. Here are some things to remember about the event:
• We encourage everyone to attend the VFW’s Wreath Ceremony at the “New Freedom Veterans Park” at 16700 Veterans Drive, New Freedom, PA (just off Campbell Road) which begins at 10am. It will be announced where volunteers should go to lay wreaths. Our Location Coordinators will arrive at the cemeteries shortly after the VFW's ceremony ends and will give additional instructions to volunteers. We ask all volunteers to be courteous and please wait for the Location Coordinator to arrive and give out instructions.
Everyone of all ages is welcome. Young children should have an adult with them.
• There will be many volunteers, and we do not like to disappoint anyone. Therefore, we ask for patience to allow every volunteer to participate in laying a wreath.
• Please follow the Location Coordinator’s instructions on where and how to place wreaths,
We hope you have a meaningful experience participating in Wreaths Across America. We thank you so much for helping us to achieve our mission to remember, honor and teach.
